Post 46i: NOTICE! Instead of inserting a new blog post as I plan to do every Friday morning, this Friday morning, March 29, 2013, I decided to leave my current blog post in place. The reason for my doing that is that it was called to my attention that the poster from the wall of the Murray Recreation Center showing me and others exercising was not accessible to you because it was an inaccessible (to most if not all of you) Google document. Finally I was able with the help of a technically gifted friend, Brian Riches of Murray, Utah to correct that problem! I feel it important to give you the opportunity to view that poster because exercise is such an important part of remaining healthy or in achieving excellent health! I am sure that this opportunity to review the previous blog post I make available in this post will allow you more time to more fully assimilate the many details of gaining good health I provided in that previous post of mine. TODAY'S THEME

I now invite you to view a poster entitled: FOREVER YOUNG which as of two weeks ago was posted on a wall of the entrance hall to the Murray (Murray, Utah, U.S.A.) Park Center where I exercise six days a week. They plan to leave that poster in place indefinitely. The poster features seven patrons of that Center who are over the age of seventy five. I, Neil Birch, am one of them. It was created by my and my wife, Melva's neighbor, Russ Jones, who lives right over our back fence. He works part-time at that Center.

As of Feb. 13, 2013 I am now eighty one. You will find a photograph of me in action on the bottom row on the right side. I am 5'9" tall and weigh about 140 lbs. I didn't mention in what I was quoted as saying on the poster under my photo, but I never miss an exercise session for any reason. If I have to I make it up as soon as possible! Please take time to review the details given on the other  patrons who are featured in this poster, then please ask yourself:  "Am I getting enough regular and effective exercise? and also, Am I eating the way I really should." Also ask yourself, am I open to the truth about what is the best kind of diet? Those questions and your honest answers to them can effectively assist you to desire to make needed changes as you experience the rest of this blog post of mine! You can do it! I did it!

Moroni Appearing to the Then Young Joseph Smith -by: Tom Lovell

I inserted the painting above in order for you see one LDS artist's view of Moroni's appearance. He had become sometime before, a resurrected person. When Moroni inscribed the following words on the Golden Plates from which the by then mature Joseph Smith was guided by the Lord to translate the Book of Mormon into the English language. He had a body of flesh and bones but his body would never die as his mortal body had. He had significantly been, an inspired prophet during his mortality.

 The Book of Mormon, Another Testament of Jesus Christ: Ether: 6 And now, I, Moroni, would speak somewhat concerning these things; I would show unto the world that faith is things which are hoped for and not seen; wherefore, dispute not because ye see not, for ye receive no witness until after the trial of your faith. 

 7 For it was by faith that Christ showed himself unto our fathers, after he had risen from the dead; and he showed not himself unto them until after they had faith in him; wherefore, it must needs be that some had faith in him, for he showed himself not unto the world.

Post 46f: Beginning way back on Tuesday, January 8th I Gave Each of you Regular Readers of My Blog Along With, Hopefully, a Number of New Readers of my Blog too; the Opportunity of Really Knowing that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is all about Keeping God's Commandments and Teaching Those We Love to Be Blessed and to Experience Feeling the Love of the Lord Jesus Christ Through Living in Accordance With His Gospel in Their Own Personal Lives. Then I Presented beginning Last Tuesday, February 5th, a Special Subject For That Week a Program which I, as a young Full-time Employee of LDS Family Services in the San Francisco Bay Area in the Early 1970s Was Allowed and Actually Encouraged to Develop by My LDS Family Services Supervisors and to simultaneously become Involved as a Full-time Graduate School of Social Work Student While Continuing as a Full-Time Employee of LDS Family Services! However, and I did not get into this subject with you previously; although I had been officially accepted as a fully qualified Graduate School of Social Work Student by Fresno State University when I was interviewed by the acceptance committee of the new San Jose State University School of Social Work Program they turned out to be very critical of my church, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and they insisted that my church looked down negatively upon both American Indians and Mexican-American people. That committee then reported to San Jose State University that they would not accept me as a graduate student in their new school of social work that was just being set up at that university because my undergraduate qualifications were not sufficient. I was fully aware they just didn't want a "Mormon" in their graduate school of Social Work because I knew that according to Fresno State University I was fully qualified. graduate student of Social Work, however, I couldn't attend Fresno State University because it was too distant from the work assignment LDS Family Services needed me in. I then wrote a letter to State Senator John R.Harmer who along with his wife and several children had served as a foster family to one of my American Indian foster children. I told him that I had been rejected by the acceptance committee of the Graduate School of Social Work of San Jose State University because I was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as was he and his family. To make the outcome of this as brief as possible, it turned out that State Senator Harmer, was a very close associate of the Governor of the State of California, Ronald Reagan (who later became President of the United States of America) and therefore was able to persuade the president of San Jose State University to overturn the rejection decision regarding me by their new graduate school of social work. Although acceptance of me by the faculty of the San Jose State Graduate School of Social work who were for the most part Mexican Americans themselves was not at first provided willingly, they gradually came to accept me as a part of their program and after working closely with that faculty for two full years of schooling I earned my Masters Degree of Social Work Diploma! As mentioned in last week's Post 46-e's introduction I was able to bring about two programs through my graduate school work for possible use by LDS Family Services, one of which was that which eventually became the "Addiction Recovery Program of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints." Before you once again begin to delve into the workings of the marvelous Addiction Recovery Program of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints after reading about my challenges in being admitted to graduate school at California State University San Jose because I was a "Mormon", I invite you to learn what one 43 year old American banker in Spokane Washington (U.S.A.) did to show his concern for the safety of a flock of new born baby ducks who needed urgent help.

That help was something only a caring human being could offer in saving those baby ducks from sudden death they would have doubtless suffered had he not been there to catch each one of them, one by one, as their mother quacked them down to her causing each of them to plummet from their birth perch dangerously high for baby ducks who were not yet able to fly, from that ledge high on a city building down to the sidewalk.

Then that mother and her flock were personally led by that banker safely down the middle of a street which had fortunately just been prepared  for a soon upcoming parade; over to a nearby river where they each jumped in and swam away following closely after their loving mother!

I Am Deeply Grateful that as a Young Full-time Employee of LDS Family Services in the San Francisco Bay Area in the Early 1970s I Was Allowed and Actually Encouraged by My Supervisors to Become Involved Simultaneously as a Full-time Graduate School of Social Work Student While Continuing as a Full-Time Employee of LDS Family Services; I Chose to be Assigned by my Graduate School of Social Work Program at San Jose State University Leaders to Work With a Non-LDS Mexican - American Group of Recovering Alcoholics to Learn Personally From those Who had Become Very Dear to Me After Associating Closely with Those Good People for one Year, What the Alcoholics Anonymous Program Was All About. With that Start I Eventually Was Guided by the Lord and with the Approval and Guidance of my Agency Director and Those Leaders above Him, to Begin a Pilot Program Which Eventually Led, With the Personal Involvement of Many Recovering LDS Addicts, the Beginnings of Something Which Eventually Became The "Addiction Recovery Program of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Immediately After Finishing that Graduate School Program and Upon Obtaining my Master of Social Work Degree from San Jose State University in San Jose, California, I was Assigned to be the First Agency Director of the New Kansas City Missouri Agency Located in the Mid Western Portion of the U.S.A. Not Long After Having Moved There I Received a Letter From an LDS Woman Who Had Been Involved in the Beginning Phases of the Church's Now Official Program: The Addiction Recovery Program. I was pleased, Surprised and Humbled by reading in Her Letter Her Expression of Gratitude for What I Had Been Blessed to Do Through My Graduate School Assignment and my Tying that Into What I Was Doing in My Employment With LDS Family Services, Which Along With the Dedicated Involvement of Many Others Became the Very Special LDS Addiction Recovery Program of the Church. With Deep Gratitude to the Lord Jesus Christ I'm Grateful for that Great Experience I Had in Being Personally Involved in the Very Beginnings of that Special Program. I'm deeply grateful that Through that Special Program Hundreds of Thousands of Suffering LDS Individuals are Now Being Assisted in Overcoming Their Previous Addictions of All Kinds!
