Post 45t: During this General Election Season Here in the United States of America, with Mitt Romney being the Republican Candidate for President of the United States of America; Much Has Been Mentioned in the Media About His Being a Member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, often referred to as the "Mormon Church." Leaders of Some Churches in the U.S.A. have Said, "Mormons are Members of a Cult and are not Christian." In a Recent Newspaper Article We Were Told That Billy Graham, a Famous and Much Appreciated Christian Minister, After Meeting Personally with Mitt Romney, Told News Reporters That He Has Taken "the "Mormon Church" off Of His List of Cults! In Continuing this Particular Series of Blog Posts I Now Provide Additional Examples of the Great Emphasis Placed by "Mormons" on Jesus Christ, Whose Church is Officially Named: the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

In this continuation of a series of blog posts featuring the emphasis given in the Book of Mormon, Another Testament of Jesus Christ, regarding the importance of all mankind's accepting and serving our Lord Jesus Christ, I now feature the story of the reactivation of a Nephite member of Christ's church by the name of Amulek who lived in the Americas in about 74 B.C., who although just previously not having been living the life of a Christian which he had professed to be, the Lord led the prophet Alma to his home where he, Amulek, accepted him and learned from him and provided for Alma's needs. Through this, the Lord prepared Amulek to turn around his life and become one of His valiant servants.

Alma, Chapter 8 (you can listen to this while reading it by clicking on the word, Listen at the top of your screen after this scripture appears on your screen.)

In Alma Chapter Ten we are told of Amulek's difficult but successful missionary work in the city of Ammonihah. Amulek, like Alma had become a prophet of the Lord Jesus Christ only after first going through the difficult process of conversion to the Religion of Jesus Christ. Once again you can listen to this scripture while reading it.

Alma, Chapter 10  (Once again, you can listen to this while reading it by clicking on the word, Listen at the top of your screen after this scripture appears on your screen. After you have finished reading Chapter 10 you will realize that the account of Amulek's teaching in his home town continues on into following chapters. You are welcome to continue on, but for the purposes of this blog post of mine I suggest end your reading at this time at the end of Alma, Chapter 10 and go on to the next Chapter listed below this picture of the Book of Mormon.

Now, please read and also listen to the teachings of this humble yet very inspired Nephite prophet of the Lord Jesus Christ, Amulek:

The Words of the Prophet Amulek Regarding the Lord Jesus Christ

King Benjamin Preaches to the Nephites. -by Gary Kapp

In about 124 B.C., according to my understanding, somewhere on the West Coast of what is now Baja California, a king of a people whose ancestors had migrated under the guidance of God from Jerusalem to that location in the Western Hemisphere prepared to turn over his kingdom to his son, Mosiah. Prior to doing so he taught his people who had all gathered together at his request from all over his kingdom, things he knew they needed to know.

From the record of King Benjamin's very important speech to the people of his nation over which he had governed for some time, we learn of his stressing the role of Jesus Christ who was to be born on this earth in about 124 years from the time his speech was given.

I now provide each of you the opportunity to read and and also listen to three separate chapters from the Book of Mormon, Another Testament of Jesus Christ. Please pay close attention to the great emphasis King Benjamin places on the role Jesus Christ, the Son of God, should have in his peoples' lives and in our lives as well!

Abinadi Appearing Before King Noah -by Arnold Friberg
Please click on the following three scriptural links, beginning with Mosiah, Chapter 14,in which Abinadi quotes the prophet Isaiah regarding Jesus Christ.  Please also read in the following two chapters as the prophet, Abinadi personally testifies of Jesus Christ to King Noah and his court.

Unbeknownst to the king and others of his court, seated somewhere to the king's left, one of his courtiers, whose name is Alma, is writing everything which Abinadi is saying. Alma believes in Abinadi's words and will later share them with other believers among his friends and acquaintances. He is the exception among the members of King Noah's court; being the only one of them who believes Abinadi's teachings about our Lord, Jesus Christ!

Book of Mormon, Mosiah, Chapter 14 (Please notice that in that chapter, Abinadi quotes from the Prophet Isaiah (Compare Isaiah 53.) Inasmuch as the Nephite people had brought with them from Jerusalem on their way to the Americas in 600 B.C., what they refer to as the Brass Plates on which were recorded many of the scriptures found in our Old Testament; however the Brass Plates contained many scriptures which are not included in our Old Testament.

You can choose to listen to each of these scriptures as you read each one!

Book of Mormon, Mosiah, Chapter 14

Book of Mormon, Mosiah, Chapter 15

Book of Mormon, Mosiah, Chapter 16

I now invite each of you to learn of the outcome of the trial of the prophet Abinadi by viewing and listening to the Book of Mormon, Mosiah, Chapter 17.

The Conference Center of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Salt Lake City, Utah.

The October 2012 General Conference of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has concluded. I along with my wife viewed each of the sessions of that conference in the comforts of our living room in our home located in Murray, Utah. I was also privileged to attend the Saturday evening General Priesthood session at our Stake Center located several blocks from our home. One of my two brothers drove down from Bountiful, Utah to attend with me. Our other brother was unable to attend with us as he usually does because of some serious physical problems from which he is still recovering.

Whether or not you were able to attend conference or view it on your television or by some other means, I believe you will each be benefited by viewing the following collection of conference talks of a number of the apostles and prophets I have provided for you just below:

After clicking on the following link, and then after choosing one at a time each talk you choose to experience, by clicking on its title, please look for the words you will see on the right side of the page which comes up after your click: Watch the Full Address. Please click on those words each time you desire to experience a particular address.
