Jesus the Christ -by Del Parson

  At this point in this blog post of mine I first point out in the passage of scripture quoted just below these first two paragraphs that Jesus while still among His sheep (his apostles and many others in Palestine in A.D. 34) He clearly informed them and us too that He had other sheep (followers) and that he was to visit them.

The main part of this post will open your understanding, if that is necessary in your particular case, by relating to you in the main part of this post, (which will actually take us into my Post 39l to facilitate that), Your and My Savior's experience among some of His actual Sheep (followers) who lived in Central America whose lineage stretches back to 600 B.C. when their principal ancestors were guided by Heavenly Father from Jerusalem to Ancient Central America over Land and Sea. This is what Jesus told His apostles there in Jerusalem:

John 10:14 I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.

15 As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep.

16 And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.

When with the Nephites in Central America the Lord clarified that statement quoted just above regarding His other sheep which He was to bring: Some of you may, like Our Savior's apostles in Palestine suppose that "these other sheep" the Savior was speaking about were the Gentiles His Palestinian apostles were eventually directed by the Savior to teach. This is what Jesus Christ told the Nephites about that mistaken supposition:

III Nephi 15:14 And not at any time hath the Father given me commandment that I should tell it unto your brethren at Jerusalem.

15 Neither at any time hath the Father given me commandment that I should tell unto them concerning the other tribes of the house of Israel, whom the Father hath led away out of the land.

16 This much did the Father command me, that I should tell unto them:

17 That other sheep I have which are not of this fold; them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.

18 And now, because of stiffneckedness and unbelief they understood not my word; therefore I was commanded to say no more of the Father concerning this thing unto them.

19 But, verily, I say unto you that the Father hath commanded me, and I tell it unto you, that ye were separated from among them because of their iniquity; therefore it is because of their iniquity that they know not of you.

20 And verily, I say unto you again that the other tribes hath the Father separated from them; and it is because of their iniquity that they know not of them.

21 And verily I say unto you, that ye are they of whom I said: Other sheep I have which are not of this fold; them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.

22 And they understood me not, for they supposed it had been the Gentiles; for they understood not that the Gentiles should be converted through their preaching.

23 And they understood me not that I said they shall hear my voice; and they understood me not that the Gentiles should not at any time hear my voice—that I should not manifest myself unto them save it were by the Holy Ghost.

24 But behold, ye have both heard my voice, and seen me; and ye are my sheep, and ye are numbered among those whom the Father hath given me. (emphasis added)

Now I wish to set the stage, so to speak for this spiritual adventure I propose you experience, by having you view a modern day apostle of the Lord Jesus Christ bear you his apostolic witness of Our, Yours and mine, Savior and Redeemer, regardless of which church you may belong to. You will be pleased to see that Elder Jeffrey R. Holland will be addressing us while in the Garden of Gethsemene which is located on the Mount of Olives a half mile from Jerusalem.

President Thomas S. Monson Greets Other General Authorities as General Conference is About to Begin

  Saturday Morning at 10:00 a.m. (Mountain Daylight Savings Time) October 1, 2011 the Semi-Annual General Conference begins.

This an occasion that most Latter-day Saints eagerly look forward to. It is a time for learning directly from the General Authorities of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. There are two general sessions on Saturday, Oct. 1, one at 10:00 a.m. and the other at 2:00 p.m.

There are also two general sessions at the same times as on Saturday, Oct. 1st, on Sunday, October 2nd, 2011.

Most of the speakers are general authorities of the Church. President Thomas S. Monson will address the Conference in the Saturday morning session. There are usually women speakers too.

Jesus Christ Visits the Americas -by John Scott


I very recently have revised and upgraded my post 39l in which the Sermon on the Mount given by our Savior Jesus Christ in Palestine is compared with the Sermon He delivered to the Nephites in Ancient Central America not long after His resurrection.

You will gain some special insights into the great importance of what our Savior taught those two groups of His "sheep." He tells us elsewhere in the Book of Mormon (and in John 10:16) that there were to be visits on His part to even "other sheep." The records of those visits have not yet come forth, however, they were promised to come forth. The time will come when they do!

After you have read my  Post 39l (or even before, if you so choose) I invite you to read something a Christian pastor of a current candidate for the Republican nomination for President of the United States of America (U.S.A.) made about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It is recorded in an article in the Deseret News of Salt Lake City, Utah in its September 7, 2011 edition.

As you read that pastor's comments provided you I invite you to think about what you learned today from my Post 39l about how Our Savior, Jesus Christ, through the Book of Mormon, Another Testament of Jesus Christ makes available to all mankind knowledge about some of the things He did after His resurrection and particularly how that because of the changes that took place in Him brought about by His suffering during the atonement in the Garden of Gethsemane, His death on Calgary Hill and His resurrection as an eternal glorified human being, whenever He was to deliver again His basic Sermon on the Mount as recorded in Mathew Chapter Five, as he did to the Nephites in ancient Central America, as recorded in the Book of Mormon, 3 Nephi Chapter 12 there are significant changes in that sermon reflecting His having been deified after His Atonement, His Death and Resurrection! 

I suggest that when most of you as you read the statement made in the Deseret News article below by Michele Bachmann's minister, you might want him asked the question:  "Pastor Merritt Have you actually ever really begun to read the Book of Mormon, Another Testament of Jesus Christ?

12 And it came to pass that after I had prayed and labored with all diligence, the Lord said unto me: I will grant unto thee according to thy desires, because of thy faith.

13 And now behold, this was the desire which I desired of him—that if it should so be, that my people, the Nephites, should fall into transgression, and by any means be destroyed, and the Lamanites should not be destroyed, that the Lord God would preserve a record of my people, the Nephites; even if it so be by the power of his holy arm, that it might be brought forth at some future day unto the Lamanites, that, perhaps, they might be brought unto salvation—

14 For at the present our strugglings were vain in restoring them to the true faith. And they swore in their wrath that, if it were possible, they would destroy our records and us, and also all the traditions of our fathers.

15 Wherefore, I knowing that the Lord God was able to preserve our records, I cried unto him continually, for he had said unto me: Whatsoever thing ye shall ask in faith, believing that ye shall receive in the name of Christ, ye shall receive it.

16 And I had faith, and I did cry unto God that he would preserve the records; and he covenanted with me that he would bring them forth unto the Lamanites in his own due time.

17 And I, Enos, knew it would be according to the covenant which he had made; wherefore my soul did rest.

18 And the Lord said unto me: Thy fathers have also required of me this thing; and it shall be done unto them according to their faith; for their faith was like unto thine.

The prayers of faith of both Enos and his fathers helped to bring about the Book of Mormon, Another Testament of Jesus Christ.

Just very recently I refurbished my post 40v. I think each of you will enjoy participating in the experiencing this post which I feel gives due credit to this humble but yet significant Book of Mormon prophet who truly testified of the Lord Jesus Christ!

King Benjamin in his final address to his people in Zarahemla implies very clearly that music plays a significant role in Heaven!

Book of Mormon, Mosiah 2:27 Therefore, as I said unto you that I had served you, walking with a clear conscience before God, even so I at this time have caused that ye should assemble yourselves together, that I might be found blameless, and that your blood should not come upon me, when I shall stand to be judged of God of the things whereof he hath commanded me concerning you.

28 I say unto you that I have caused that ye should assemble yourselves together that I might rid my garments of your blood, at this period of time when I am about to go down to my grave, that I might go down in peace, and my immortal spirit may join the choirs above in singing the praises of a just God.

29 And moreover, I say unto you that I have caused that ye should assemble yourselves together, that I might declare unto you that I can no longer be your teacher, nor your king; (These are from among King Benjamin's final words to his people, the Nephites (of about 124 B.C.) emphasis added)

Do you have any doubt that music plays an equally important role in Heaven as well as here on earth?

To me and perhaps to many of you also, many messages of the prophets of the Lord Jesus Christ have a definite musical ring to them. In this post as in my most recent other posts I have been emphasizing that which Book of Mormon prophets testified of the Lord Jesus Christ.

In the particular previous blog post of mine which I suggest you now experience you will learn the beauty and harmony of Eternal truth, of the marvelous gift of the Resurrection of the Dead, the gift to us from our Savior, Jesus Christ which will eventually bless you and me and all mankind eternally!
 
Perhaps you might agree with me that some of Alma the Younger's words have a musical lilt to them and could be put to music. Even though you may have experienced this post before, I think once again the inspired words of Alma the Younger will touch your hearts very tenderly and convincingly!
